This year one of the main attractions of Filey Festival will be our rich and diverse range of music on offer.
We have a packed programme of music throughout the eight days of the festival and there is something to suit all tastes. From a female acapella trio to trumpet soloists, local schools, jazz, a barbershop quartet, an opera singer, and the famous Last Night of the Proms featuring the Scarborough Spa Orchestra, the list goes on. There will also be an acoustic gathering – bringing together some of the best local musicians on Saturday 5th July and lots of music during the Party in the Park on Sunday 6th July.
Diversity is the key for this year’s festival. So in terms of entertainment we have dance, music an Edwardian Soiree, lunchtime concerts, an antiques valuation with local auctioneer David Duggleby, the Fishermen’s Choir, a comedy night, a variety show and lots more.
Plus we have something a little different, the best works by local artists will be showcased in the beach huts and at various locations around Filey and we also have talks by authors and a local historian as well as poetry readings and a workshop and a chance to sample ‘Tea and Cakes with Mrs Beaton’.
